Date Released: 10/25/2017. Series Name: CDC Radio.
To avoid infection, stay away from flood waters if you have a rash or an open wound. Wash your hands with soap and clean water before and after rendering first aid for a wound. If soap and water aren’t available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Clean open wounds by washing them well with soap and water, then use a waterproof bandage. If a wound develops redness, swelling, or oozing, get medical care immediately.
